• Q: How to Service an Ignition Coil on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

  A: Disconnect the negative battery cable before you service the ignition coil. Carefully take off the throttle control shield and after that disengage the cables from the lever and put the bracket into position. After that, take off the spark plug wires from the ignition coil and open the electrical connector to remove it. Release the bolts on the ignition coil, twisting the coil as you go and then draw it out upward from below where the throttle body meets the intake manifold. Attach the air tube to the air filter and connect the coil to the throttle body side of the intake manifold. Then turn it down past the throttle body and install it on the valve cover. After connecting the electrical connector, put in the bolts and once the coil is in place, twist two of them into the coil to make it secure. After that, connect the cables to the ignition coil, place the throttle cable bracket back, attach the cables to the throttle body lever and reattach the throttle control shield before you connect the negative battery cable.
