  A: Before servicing or repairing the camshaft position sensor, open the air cleaner lid and unplug both the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose. After that, take out the negative battery cable and the electrical connector from the camshaft position sensor and remove the screws holding it in place. Unscrew the end of the target magnet that is holding it to the camshaft on the rear part. Once you put the target magnet onto the camshaft, tighten the mounting screw to 3.6 Nm (32 ± 5 in. lbs.) so that the magnet is not damaged; if it cracks, it has to be replaced. After replacing the camshaft position sensor, tighten its mounting screws to 9 Nm (80 ± 15 in. lbs.). Before you install anything, make sure the electrical connector does not touch the sensor pins at an angle to avoid damage. Lastly, attach the negative battery wire, adjust the air cleaner lid and put back the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose.
