2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service the MAP Sensor on the 2.0/2.4/2.4L Turbo on 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: To access the Manifold Pressure/Vacuum Sensor in a 2.0/2.4/2.4L Turbo, take off its air cleaner lid, the makeup air hose and connect the negative battery cable. Removal of the sensor requires connecting the electrical connector from the MAP sensor and removing the screws that are attached to it. When attaching the new sensor, place it in the intake manifold so the O-ring is not ripped or harmed. Mount the plastic manifold with 2 Nm (20 in. lbs) of force, then link the electrical connector to the sensor. Once done, insert the air cleaner lid and the makeup air hose over it, then put back the negative battery cable.
