2005 Dodge Dakota Control Arm Bushing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Control Arm Bushing for Lower on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: First, remove the lower control arm (6) and hold it in a vise to work on and replace its bushing. Extreme pressure lubricant should be used on all threaded areas of the tool to keep it working well and lasting longer during setup and removal. Place the C-4212-F, 9334-5 and 9603-3 special tools over the lower control arm to press the bushing loose. Put the new bushing (4) into the lower control arm (3) using press tool C-4212-F, depth gauge 9603-2 and driver 9603-1 to help it slide into place. After you have removed the control arm from the vise, install the lower control arm (6), reset the height of the ride and realign the wheels.
