How to Service and Repair a Rear Disc Brake Caliper on 2005 Dodge Durango?

For caliper servicing or repair in the rear disc brakes, first lift and support the vehicle and take off the wheel and tire assembly. Vacuum out a tiny bit of fluid from the master cylinder brake reservoir with a clean suction gun. Pressdown on the caliper piston to open the caliper, take out the mounting bolts and pull the disc brake caliper from the bracket while its rearface is unsupported. Then, take off the inboard and outboard brake pads, along with the anti-rattle clips and remove the caliper adapter's mounting bolts. The first step is to put the caliper adapter in place and attach it with bolts that are tightened to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs), then complete the work by adding anti-rattle clips and both inboard and outboard pads. In the end, put the mounting bolts into the caliper and fit the tire and wheel back on the car.
