2005 Dodge Durango Brake Disc Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Front Brake Disc on 2005 Dodge Durango?
A: To perform front brake disc service, you must first lift the vehicle and take out the wheel and tire. Following this, cut out the caliper mounting bolts and detach the caliper from the steering knuckle, so that the brake hose does not hold up the caliper adapter while you remove it. Afterward, take off the disc from the hub/bearing wheel studs. With all-wheel antilock equipped models, check the tone wheel on the hub/bearing; any damage to the teeth requires replacing the whole assembly since the tone wheel is not fixed either separately or as a single unit. Put the new disc onto the hub/bearing wheel studs and then join the caliper adapter assembly, tightening the bolts to 176 Nm (130 ft. lbs.). After fitting and tightening the assembly, remove the vehicle's jack, drive it down slowly and use the brakes a couple of times to properly seat the pads before you start driving.
