Q: How to Service and Repair an Intake Manifold on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: The intake manifold should be serviced and repaired after disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Take out the resonator assembly and the air inlet hose and later disconnect both the throttle and speed control cables. Off next, disconnect the connectors for MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, TPS Sensor, CTS Sensor and IAC Motor. Start by removing the vapor purge hose, brake booster hose, speed control servo hose and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose, after which remove the generator and air conditioning compressor electrical connections. After that, get rid of the left and right radio suppressor straps and ignition coil towers and extract the bolt that holds the top oil dipstick tube and the ground strap. First, bleed the fuel system, next remove the fuel rail and then take apart the throttle body assembly and its bracket. After the engine has cooled, drain the coolant down to below the temperature mark, disconnect the heater hoses from the engine and heater core up front, unclip and take off the heater hoses and tube connected at the intake manifold and take out the coolant temperature sensor. After loosening the fasteners in the order they were tightened, pull off the intake manifold. For installation, place the intake manifold gaskets first and then install the intake manifold. Fit the intake manifold retaining bolts and tighten them to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Do so in the proper order as specified. After that, secure the left and right radio suppressor straps and fit the throttle body assembly. Link the throttle cable and the speed control cable to the throttle body; once done, fit the fuel rail and ignition coils towers in place. Take the heater hoses and tubes and attach them to the manifold and then join the hoses to the heater core and engine front cover. Connect together the MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, TPS Sensor, CTS Sensor, IAC Motor, ignition coil towers and fuel injectors. Install the top oil dipstick tube bolt, the ground strap, connect the generator powerlines and hook up the vapor purge hose, brake booster hose, speed control servo hose and PCV hose. Fill up the cooling system, slide back the resonator assembly and air inlet hose and finally tie the negative cable to the battery.
