2005 Dodge Ram 1500 A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install an A/C Condenser on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: First, get the liquid refrigerant out of the refrigerant system and cut the negative battery cable before removing the condenser HVAC. Then, take off the A/C discharge line and the A/C liquid line from the A/C condenser and afterward, disconnect the wire harness tube from the A/C condenser cooling fan motor. After removing the two bolts from the upper crossmember, gently raise the A/C condenser and cooling fan assembly so that the lower mounts come away from the flanges. Put the A/C condenser and fan assembly onto a workbench, use a screwdriver to unscrew the four screws that attach the fan to the condenser and remove the fan. Add 30 milliliters of the correct type of refrigerant oil to the system during A/C installation if the A/C condenser is also being replaced. If taking panels out, put the A/C condenser fan in place and hold it using four screws, ensuring the tightness is 2.2 N.m. Attach the condenser to the engine's upper front crossmember by using the two installation bolts tightened to 10.5 N.m. Secure the A/C condenser into the compartment by attaching its lower mounting tabs into the flanges and finish by connecting the wire connector to the cooling fan motor and attaching the condenser to the lines. Fasten the negative battery terminal, empty the refrigerant system and recharge it.
