2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Engine Mount on 2005 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: You should begin by raising the car on a hoist and putting a jack below the transmission. Pull the nuts (1) from the transmission mount and remove the two bolts that connect the mount to the engine bracket. Raise the transmission enough so that you can pull the mount from the crossmember and then take it away (2 and 1). After applying threadlocking compound to the bolts, join the bolts that hold the transmission mount to the transmission bracket and secure with 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Rotate the transmission until the mount connects with the crossmember's flat surface and the studs are inside its slots. Put the nuts on the transmission mounts studs and insert them through the crossmember access hole; adjust them to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) of torque.
