2005 Dodge Ram 3500 MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install a Dual Function MAP Sensor with Integrated Intake Air Temperature Sensor on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: The IAT/MAP sensor which performs two functions, is connected at the top of the intake manifold. Begin the process by wiping down the region around the sensor, after which disconnect the electrical connector on the IAT/MAP sensor. Use a Torx screwdriver on the two T-15 screws and take the sensor from the intake manifold after removing it. As you do this, review the condition of the O-ring that protects the sensor. Before installation, check that the O-ring on the sensor is not damaged and apply clean engine oil to it. Wipe the sensor mount area, insert the sensor into the manifold, fix and tighten the sensor bolts to 9 in. lbs. force. Lastly, plug the electrical connection into the sensor.
