While servicing A/C refrigerant, check and adjust the oil so the compressor will not be harmed. When you remove a refrigerant line, be sure to replace the O-ring inside the seal to stop any leak. Bring either the underbody suction line to the driver side or the underbody discharge line to the passenger side and fit it under the car by turning and tilting as needed. If ready, place the rear heater lines by the left side frame rail and fasten the underbody lines to it, snugging the nuts on each fastener. To service the section of the underbody suction line close to the rear, remove and relocate the driver side of the engine cradle and put in the two bolts with a torque of 125 Nm (92 ft. lbs.). Take off the existing tapes or plugs, rub the areas with new rubber O-ring seals using clean refrigerant oil and attach these seals to each fitting using only the recommended parts. During the underbody suction line service, assemble the two parts of the line at the left frame rail and then properly tighten the retaining bolt to 8 Nm (70 in. lbs.). To seal the heat shields, put them in their positions, attach the heat shield brackets and tighten the nuts well. If your engine is a 3.5L, put in the left catalytic converter and its support bracket. After the reinstallation, tighten all bolts and nuts of the rear transmission crossmember to a torque of 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.). Secure the nuts for underbody suction and underbody heater lines to the driver's side of the underbody, making certain they are well-tightened. Link the underbody suction line or discharge line to the interior refrigerant line near the front door entry panel and after installation, tighten the retaining bolt to 8 Nm (70 in. lbs.). Set the rear underbody suction line below the vehicle and mount the discharge line on the right front frame rail, securing both with their fasteners. matching the pipes Rear suction line to front the suction line or the discharge line as required, secure and tighten the retaining bolt(s) to 8 Nm (70 in. lbs.). After you have finished checking the underbody line, reconnect it to the rear A/C compressor, hook up the negative
Battery Cable, drain the system of rear refrigerant, top up on oil and recharge the remaining rear refrigerant.
