Before you service and repair the cruise control servo, remove the negative
Battery Cable from the battery. Then, separate the line going to the vacuum from the servo and unplug the electrical connector. Take out the coolant bottle by loosening the nuts or bolts and slide it ahead a little. Release the cable from the
Throttle Body and take out the servo bracket mounting nuts afterward. Remove the two nuts that hold down the servo sleeve on the bracket, then move the speed control cable sleeve and servo away to Similarly, remove any cable retaining clips holding down the cable sleeves. Take the servo out of the mounting bracket and note if the connector is embedded side up or down. Lay the servo on the mounting bracket and fit the hole in the cable connector over the hole on the servo pin, then attach the clip that holds the cable to the servo. Go through the holes in the bracket with the servo mounting studs and tighten the matching screws to meet the specified torque. Attach the nuts that hold the mounting bracket to the car body and then reconnect the vacuum lines and electrical cables from the servo. Hook the servo wire back up to the throttle body, set the coolant bottle in place and then hook the negative battery cable to the battery. Before you start the engine, use the accelerator pedal to find out if there is any binding.
