2006 Jeep Liberty Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: The first thing to do when servicing the cruise control servo is to take off the negative battery cable at the battery. After that, take out the vacuum line and electrical connector attached to the servo. Unscrew the nuts/bolts holding the coolant bottle and set it just a bit forward. Lift off the servo cable from the throttle body and then remove the servo bracket's mounting nuts from the engine as well. Pull the speed control cable sleeve and servo away from where they are mounted, since the servo cable sleeve is tucked inside and secured by a clip on the bracket. Grasp the servo and lift it out of the mount while making sure you see the right side. Setup involves aligning the hole in the cable connector with the servo's hole, affixing the servo to its mount and wrapping the servo electrical cable around the retaining clip. Go into the holes on the mounting bracket with the servo studs and fix the servo-to-mounting bracket nuts with the correct torque. Then, put in the nuts that join the servo mounting bracket to the body, tightening them to the skills specified in the torque table. Connect up the vacuum line and electrical connector at the servo and then join the servo cable to the throttle body. After that, put the coolant bottle back in and attach the negative battery cable to the battery. Before you start the engine, push the accelerator to see if it binds up.
