How to Effectively Service and Repair Coil Springs on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?

Before servicing or repairing the coil spring, lift and secure the vehicle and then remove the wheel and tire. If you're removing or installing the rear suspension, put an extra pair of jack stands under the front of the engine cradle for better stability. Lift the car using a utility jack under the middle of the back suspension crossmember (for cars without AWD) or the rear driveline module (for cars with AWD) so that the jack connects with the module/crossmember securely. Disconnect the two shock absorber upper mounting bolts, then unlock the lower bolt from its nut. Unless you want to do additional wheel alignment, do not detach the bolts on the opposite side of the vehicle. Remove the bolts holding the front and rear crossmember to that side of the car, then slowly lower the suspension so the shock absorber can slip clear of the body flange. Turn the top outward, lift the lower end from the spring link hole, remove the coil spring farther down, then take out the isolator. Apply the coil spring isolator to the top of the coil spring, make sure the coil spring top is aligned with the coil spring link lower edge that's against the abutment. Even out the lower part of the shock absorber in the spring link's pocket and then tip upward the top of the shock until it's aligned with the holes. Set the upper bolts in the holes and leave them loose. Raise the jack gently, placing the coil spring and lower end of the shock against the mounting point, until the lower mounting hole lines up with the spring link. Put in the lower shock mounting bolt but don't make it tight yet. Raise the crossmember further with the jack so that the two mounting bolts can be inserted and tightened to 163 Nm (120 ft. lbs.). Turn the shock absorber upper mounting bolts to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.), then take out the jack and lower the car. Assemble the wheel and tire, tighten the wheel nuts according to the right order to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.), support the car with an alignment rack or drive-on hoist, then lower the vehicle to the ground. Next, install the lower shock mount bolt, but torque it to 102 Nm (75 ft. lbs.).
