2007 Chrysler Pacifica Coil Springs Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair Coil Springs on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Before working on the coil spring, first raise the vehicle on supports. Be sure to remove the bolts that hold the wheel in place, then take out the whole tire and wheel. Place an additional jack stand beneath the that holds the engine so it remains stable while you remove and install the rear wheels. Place a jack under the center of the rear suspension crossmember or the rear driveline module in AWD cars and lift its head until it rests on the module or crossmember. First, take out the upper shock mounting bolts and then the shock's lower mounting bolt and nut. Don't take out or loosen the bolts at the original side either, because the rear wheel alignment would have to be checked after reinstallation of the crossmember bases. With the repair side facing down, unbolt all crossmember mounts on both the front and rear using care to avoid accidentally lowering the crossmember and damaging other things. Carefully lower the jack, so the repair side of the crossmember moves down enough for the top of the shock absorber to passthe body flange. To get the shock absorber out, turn the top up and lift out the lower end from the spring link. With the wheel off, take out the spring and isolator, starting from the bottom end of the spring and then lower the jack bit by bit if removing the spring proves hard.
