To fix or repair the hinge of the front door, start by opening the door using the latch after releasing it. Connect the A-pillar with the windshield and remove the check damper to make trace marks on the door and pillar for later use. To assist the door, apply a suitable tool, then take out the bolts that link the hinge to the A-pillar and the front door to the hinge. When hinge pins are being serviced, pull off the spring nut and pin after removing the hinge from the car and then install both the pin and nut on the fixed hinge. As you put in a new hinge, make sure the head of each hinge pin is deep inside the door hinge, take off the plastic shipping clip and put the correct metal retaining clip instead. When needed, apply paint to the hinge before installing it and next position the door hinge on the vehicle. Install all the bolts, start with those on the hinge and pillar and set them at 34 N.m (25 ft.lbs.) torque before doing the bolts for the front door and hinge at the same torque. See that the door opens and closes properly, adjusting anything that is off where it should be.
