How to Ensure Proper Functioning of Trunk Lid Lift Support on a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?

To fix the trunk or liftgate shock support, open the liftgate and support it first. Insert a small flat tool between the ball joint retaining clips while pulling the ball socket off the stud. Loose the clips enough so you can take out the ball studs, then remove the support cylinder. For installation, set the retaining clips completely into the ball socket, then cover the ball studs with the support cylinder, connecting the thin side to the liftgate so they snap securely into place.
