2006 Chrysler Pacifica Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an Oil Filter Without Damaging the Filter Can on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: Do not bend the filter can when servicing the oil filter. Instead, fit the removal tool strap band onto the lock seam at the base of the can which is held firm by the base plate. Use the proper oil filter wrench to remove the filter from its place and get rid of it. After that, clean the base and look at where the gasket meets it. Cover the gasket on the filter with clean engine oil, attach and tighten the filter so it clings tightly to the base with 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.) of torque, using the proper tool if needed. Start the engine when you finish all your checks and also look for any leaks.
