Before removing the trunk/liftgate latch, take off the liftgate trim panel. Then, separate the cable from the handle on the outside and take out the wire connector from the latch of the liftgate. Open the liftgate, undo the screws that fasten the latch and finally take the latch out of your vehicle. To set it up, hook the link and reattach the latch to the vehicle, then slide the screws inside until tightened to 11 N.m (95 in.lbs.) torque. Place the wire connector on the liftgate latch, confirm that the liftgate fits and functions properly, change anything that needs fixing and end by reinstalling the trim panel.
