The first step in serving or repairing the trunk or liftgate latch is to remove the trim panel covering the liftgate. After that, detach the outside handle link from the clip on the latch and separate the wire connector from the liftgate latch. Remove the screws after that which keep the latch on the liftgate and then take out the latch from the vehicle.
