2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Blower Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Blower Motor in an HVAC System on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: The blower motor lies on the bottom right section of the HVAC housing and you don't need to take it apart to reach it. At first, come off the negative battery cable and isolate it and then both the silencer on the passenger side instrument panel and the glove box. Look inside the glove box to grab the disconnect button and remove the wire harness of the instrument panel from the blower motor's wire harness. After that, free the blower motor connector from its holder in the HVAC housing. Look at the base of the instrument panel, take out the three (2) screws that join the blower motor (1) to the HVAC housing and remove the motor from underneath it. Once the HVAC housing is open, place the blower motor inside and hold it in place with the three screws (2). Secure and tighten them to 2 N.m (17 in. lbs.). With your hand through the glove box opening, yoke the wire harness leads to the retainer on the HVAC housing and then connect the instrument panel wire harness connector to the blower motor connector, locking it in place. Install the glove box and passenger side instrument panel silencer and lastly reconnect the negative battery cable.
