How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose Suction Line Safely on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

The A/C suction line service and repair should start by removing the refrigerant from the system. Remove the bolt holding the A/C suction line to the top of the compressor and disconnect and throw away the O-ring seal. Plugs or tape must cover the opened line for suction and the opening to the compressor inlet. On vehicles with the 2.4L Turbo engine, take out the nut that holds the suction line retaining bracket to the bolt for the thermostat housing. For the next step, detach the nut holding the A/C suction line to the accumulator tubes, pull the suction line out of the accumulator tube assembly and throw away the O-ring. Connect the A/C suction line to the A/C compressor, bolt it in place using a socket ratchet and tighten it to 12 N.m (108 in. lbs.). After servicing, remove all vehicle parts and add the necessary refrigerant once more.
