2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Cruise Control Switch Parts and Q&A
Q: How Should the Cruise Control Switch Be Managed and Removed During Service on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: The speed control switch found in the steering wheel and attached through the clock spring device below the air bag module should be handled with caution during service. Before removing it, remove the lid on the air cleaner and unplug the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose. Following that, remove the negative cable from the battery and switch off the engine. Following the removal of the air bag, undo the top screw and adjust the steering wheel so you can get to the switch at 6 o'clock and then remove the screws and the electrical connection to remove the switch from the back. To set the switch in place, join the electric connector, position the rubber seal and tighten the two screws to 1.6 N.m (15 in. lbs.). Install the air bag, reconnect the negative battery cable and put the air cleaner lid aside the inlet air temperature sensor and makeup air hose.
