2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser Oil Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Replace an Oil Filter on 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser?
A: Remember that engine oil, whether new or used, might cause skin irritation, so wash any contact with soap and water and try not to touch it. Properly dispose of used engine oil to stop pollution. Replacing engine oil is necessary at the maintenance intervals indicated in your vehicle's manual. Initially, let the engine run until it gets to its normal temperature, shut off the engine and place the vehicle on a level plain. Open the oil fill hole and raise the car on a hoist. Fit a suitable oil can under the drain hole on the oil pan before you take out the drain plug. Look at the drain plug threads to make sure they are in good shape and if anything is wrong, replace them both. Remove the oil filter and after that attach the drain plug (2), torquing it to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Replace the oil filter (1), then lift the vehicle, pour in the correct amount of oil and lower it again. After that, put back the oil fill cap and watch for any oil spills. Then, run the engine and look for leaks and turn it off to check the oil level.
