2006 Chrysler Sebring A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain Your A/C Hose on 2006 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Recover the refrigerant by operating your A/C and then unplug the negative battery cable from the battery before touching any part of the A/C discharge line. Take out the front fascia and then disconnect the harness cord between the A/C pressure transducer and the rest of the vehicle. On any 2.4L Turbo car, take out the bolt that keeps the A/C discharge line bracket attached to the radiator. After that, take out the nut holding the A/C discharge line on the condenser, separate the line from the condenser and toss out the O-ring seal. Install a plug over the discharge line fitting and close the condenser inlet port with tape. Take out the fastener on the A/C discharge line, disconnect it from the compressor and throw away the O-ring seal. Place plugs or tape over the lines around the compressor and where the refrigerant liquid was released and then take the A/C discharge line from under the hood. Should it be called for, disconnect the A/C pressure transducer from the A/C discharge line. During installation, if the A/C pressure transducer was taken off, attach it to the A/C discharge line. Move the positioned A/C discharge line into the engine bay and take off any tape or plugs from the open fitting as well as from the outlet port on the compressor. Put a new O-ring seal into the discharge line fitting after lubricating it with clean refrigerant oil and see to it that the seal you install is proper for R-134a and also use the well-recommended refrigerant oil. Put the discharge line onto the A/C compressor and fasten it with the nut held by the bolt. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.). Yank off the tape or plugs from both ports mentioned and apply clean refrigerant oil to a fresh O-ring, then put it on the discharge line fitting. Screw the A/C discharge line onto the A/C condenser and tighten it with a nut to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.). Secure the discharge line bracket bolt to the radiator if your car has the 2.4L Turbo engine and tighten it firmly. Fasten the wire harness connector on the A/C pressure transducer, fit in the front fascia, reconnect the battery negative cable, empty the refrigerant system and top up the refrigerant system.
