2006 Dodge Caravan Speed Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Vehicle Speed Sensor on 2006 Dodge Caravan?
A: First, lift the vehicle on a hoist and connect to a hoist, then separate the speed sensor connector. Don't forget to clean the region around the speed sensor to keep it clear. Then, take out the speed sensor retaining bolt and very carefully pull the sensor out of the transaxle with caution, so that the sensor gear doesn't fall into the transaxle. After taking off the speed sensor, unhook the speed sensor drive gear. The pinion gear should be attached to the speed sensor and then a NEW o-ring goes on the speed sensor as it is installed into the transaxle. Use the bolt to secure the item, tighten it to 7 Nm or 60 in lbs and attach the speed sensor connector once more. When done, lower the vehicle again to check that the speedometer works correctly while driving.
