2006 Dodge Durango Oil Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Change an Oil Filter on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: Before you change the oil filter, put a drain pan beneath the filter. Use appropiate oil filter wrench to relax the filter, afterwards please rotate it anti-clockwise and take off the filter from the cylinder block oil filter boss. As soon as the filter separates from the filter case, flip the gasket end upward to avoid dripping any oil and also remove the entire filter and its gasket from the vehicle. Use a wiping cloth to clean the gasket sealing surface. Gently lubricate the oil filter gasket with engine oil, then place the filter over the adapter nipple beneath the cover and turn to screw it in place. After the gasket touches the seal, tighten the filter by hand only one full turn, not any tighter. Add the last drop of oil, make certain the crankcase is filled, switch on the engine and check for leaks.
