How to Maintain a Glove Box Assembly on 2006 Jeep Commander?

Before performing any repairs, first pull the damper rod on the glove box assembly outwards towards the rear of the car. Open the glove compartment and press where the release handles are to let the cover rotate under the carpet. Rotate the box around to the down position, free the door hinges at the bottom and lift out the glove box. To install, slide the lower glove box hinges over the pivots and raise the box up. First, depress the stop tabs and shut the glove box, then join the stabilizer rod to the box compartment's outside edge.
