2006 Jeep Commander Window Regulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Window Regulator for the Rear Door on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: Removing the watershield should be the first step when servicing and repairing the rear door window regulator. For now, put in the window switch and raise the glass all the way up to get to the glass clamp screws, then use tape to hold the glass in place. Gently turn the bolt in each glass clamp just so that the door glass comes out, but don't remove them. After that, take out bolts 1 and 4 and remove connection 3 from the rail in the door interior. Turn the regulator down and pick it out of the door. Install the regulator in the rear door by putting it where we fitted the regulator previously. Connect the wire harness connector 3 to the regulator motor. Set the glass in the regulator clamps and screw in bolts 1 and 2 to attach the regulator rails to the door, making sure they're tightened to 8.5 N.m (75 in. lbs.). Take off the tape keeping the door glass in its highest place, add the window switch for now and lift the glass to its highest point. Once you have tightened all the bolts in the window regulator glass clamp to 12 N.m, put the watershield and trim panel back onto the front door's inside, then install watershield 1.
