  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Door Lock Cylinder on 2006 Jeep Commander?
    A: The first step to repairing or replacing the lock cylinder in the door is to take away the exterior door handle from the driver side front door. Then, take your hand and push the face of the lock cylinder until it shoots out of the hole in the back of the door handle. To complete the install, put the lock cylinder into the hole on the back of the driver's outside door handle. Press the back of the cylinder with your hand to check it has been seated in the handle completely. Line up the front door lock cylinder in the driver handle so that its two screw holes are above the handle's holes and finally install the door handle onto the front door.
