2006 Jeep Commander Radiator Support Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Radiator Support on 2006 Jeep Commander?
A: The first step in fixing or repairing the radiator support is to take off the grille assembly and the front hood seal. After that, undo the center brace nuts, take out the hood latch and then undo the crossmember bolts to unattach the crossmember. Before anything else, fit the upper crossmember and hold it in place with the outer mounting bolts, tightening all of them properly. Put the nuts for the radiator crossmember support on the latch, remembering that each side should be tightened to 11 N.m (8 ft.lbs) torque. After that, set up the grille assembly, add the hood seal and look at the hood fit to make any needed adjustments.
