How to Service and Repair a Trunk Lid Latch on 2006 Jeep Commander?

To repair the trunk/liftgate latch, connect the battery negative cable, remove the trim panel and access the latch. Disconnect electrical connectors and latch cable and remove the latch. Reinstall securing it with three bolts and reconnecting cables and replacing the trim panel and battery cable.
