  A: Once removed, all necessary console parts should allow easy access to the automatic shifter, cables and the shift lever assembly. Remove the transmission shift cable from the shift lever, then also the park-interlock cable from the shifter lever. All nuts and wiring connectors should first be taken off the shifter assembly which you will then lift from the car after removing it from the floor pan. Put the shifter assembly on the studs for the assembly on the floor pan and fasten it with nuts that you tighten to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.). Connect the wiring harness back to the shifter assembly bracket and engage any connectors you took off. After that, place the park-interlock cable in both the bracket and shifter lever and push the shift cable into the bracket. Put the floor shifter in park, unscrew the adjuster on the cable and position the cable pin onto the shift lever pin. Ensure the shift lever is set to PARK and when you've finished, tighten the adjustment screw with 7 Nm. Then, inspect the shifting procedure and BTSI operation, make any cable adjustments needed and replace all removed console parts.
