2006 Jeep Liberty Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2006 Jeep Liberty?
A: Before you try to remove the ignition lock cylinder, open it by inserting the ignition key. If your car has an automatic, put the vehicle into PARK before leaving your parked spot. To start, remove the lower shroud cover, then disconnect the remote keyless entry module (R.K.E.) and the halo ring around the cylinder. Turn the key so it is ON and then find the release tang at the bottom of the key cylinder. Insert a small screwdriver or pin punch into the small hole under the steering column. By pressing up on the screwdriver, pull the key off from the column. To install your key, insert it into the key cylinder, line it up with the ignition switch and press down until you hear a click. Turn the key to the insert position, replace the halo ring around the key cylinder housing, put on the R.K.E. module and then slide on the lower cover.
