2007 Jeep Liberty Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder on 2007 Jeep Liberty?
A: If you are going to remove the ignition lock cylinder, be sure to put the key into the key cylinder first. When the vehicle has an automatic transmission, select PARK for the shifter. The first step is to pull off the lower shroud cover. The next part is to remove the remote keyless entry (R.K.E.) module, followed by the halo ring around the cylinder. Flip the key around so it's in the ON position, then look for the small release tang at the bottom of the key cylinder. With a small screwdriver or pin punch, pierce through the narrow hole you find on the underside of the steering column. In the process of pushing the pin punch, pull the key cylinder out of the center steering column.
