2006 Jeep Wrangler Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Start by taking out the air cleaner tube from the throttle body and next unplug the electrical cords on the IAC motor and TPS. After that, take out all the connecting cables from the throttle body arm and discconnect the essential vacuum lines. Remove the three bolts connect the throttle body to the engine to take off the throttle body and inspect the old one-piece O-ring connecting the throttle body to the intake manifold. Be sure that the throttle control O-ring is inspected and changed if it's needed during installation. Wipe down the treads where the throttle body and intake manifold connect, add the new O-ring and put the throttle body on top. Install the throttle body using the three bolts, but make sure they are tightened to a torque of 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.). After that, install the control cables, electrical connectors and needed vacuum lines and lastly, link the air cleaner duct to the throttle body.
