2007 Chrysler Aspen Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Service an Evaporator Core on 2007 Chrysler Aspen?
A: Start by undoing the HVAC housing from the back of the car and putting it on a workbench to work on the evaporator core. Get rid of the rear HVAC wire harness from the rear blower motor and the rear blower motor resistor. After that, remove the screws holding the rear air inlet housing to the rear HVAC housing and then remove the inlet housing yourself. Unwrap the rear A/C evaporator tubes' insulator to get to the rear A/C expansion valve bolts. Remove the two bolts binding the rear A/C evaporator tubes to the rear A/C expansion valve and the rear evaporator extension tube tapping block. Very gently remove the rear A/C evaporator from the top of the rear HVAC housing. Take out the rear A/C expansion valve from the rear evaporator extension tube tapping block and toss the O-ring seals. At the end, put plugs into or cover with tape the exposed rear evaporator and extension tube fittings and all rear expansion valve ports.
