2007 Chrysler Aspen Exhaust Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How Do Exhaust Valve and Intake Valves Affect the Reworking of Worn or Burned Valve Seats on 2007 Chrysler Aspen?
A: A worn or burned valve seat can be improved if the angle and seat width match; otherwise, you must replace the cylinder head. When remaking valve seats and valves, you must use the right sized valve guide pilot to ensure the stones are installed correctly. Offer up the dial indicator and measure the valve center, ensuring the overall run out does not go above 0.051 mm/2. Brush a little Prussian blue on the valve seat, cover the cylinder head with the valve and rotate the valve while applying light pressure. Check the valve face after removing it; if the blue appears below the valve face, lower the valve seat with a 15 degree stone; if the stain is visible just beneath the point, raise the valve seat with a 65-degree stone. A correctly positioned intake seat should be between 1.75 and 2.36 mm (0.0689 - 0.0928 in.) wide, while the properly placed exhaust seat should be 1.71 to 2.32 mm (0.0673 - 0.0911 in.) wide. Confirm that the installed valve spring stands at no more than 40.74 mm (1.6039 in.) after you place it in the engine after refacing. Be sure that the face to face angle on the valve seat and valve face is set between 44.5 and 45°.
