2007 Chrysler Crossfire Camshaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Camshaft on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before removing and installing the camshaft, take off the cylinder head covers. Turn the engine crankshaft in the running direction until you see that the scribe mark on the pulley/vibration damper, at 40°, aligns with the one on the timing chain cover, making sure the grooves in the camshafts face the center of the wedge. Position the engine timing at a degree of 40° ATDC. Put Special Tool 9104 and 9105 Camshaft Locating Plate onto the cylinder head flush and then insert it into the groove of the camshaft as far as it will go. Subsequently, get rid of the tensioner for the timing chain. Bind the timing chains to each camshaft sprocket using a cable tie. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolt and the sprocket as well. Loosen the bolts you are given the instructions for and then loosen and remove the bearing bridge bolts in the same pattern, before you remove the camshaft bearing bridges.
