2007 Chrysler Crossfire Evaporator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair an Evaporator on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Air bag system must first be turned off by unconnecting the battery negative cable, waiting up to two minutes and then you are ready to service or repair the evaporator core. Start with disconnecting the HVAC housing and heater core. Unscrew the four nuts holding the valve strip in place on the HVAC, so you can pull off and detach the aluminum lines. Take the vacuum lines out of the vacuum element. Unclip the two sliding clips to take the blower housing away from the air distribution housing. You should start by removing the four spring clips, then the screw near the expansion valve and after that the foam gasket. Unclip both springs on the upper section to separate it from the rest of the section and take out the evaporator from the empty housing.
