2007 Chrysler Crossfire Piston Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Piston in an Engine on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Before you can remove and replace the piston and connecting rod, you need to get rid of the timing chain. Before taking the engine apart, put marks on all the connecting rods and rod caps. Also, check that the facing direction of all the pistons is recorded if the arrows on them are hard to see. After that, pull the bolts from the connecting rods and remove both the bolts and the connecting rod caps, then get the pistons off the engine top with caution to prevent damage. Pair the piston pins with the appropriate pistons and next remove the snap rings from those pistons. Take out the piston pins and pull off the piston connected to the connecting rod. Take time to see if the parts you're reusing have any damage and fix or replace them if appropriate.
