2008 Chrysler Crossfire Piston Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Piston in an Engine on 2008 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: You should remove the timing chain before pulling the connecting rod out and fitting a replacement. Mark the rods and their caps so that you know how to put them back in place and if you cannot see the piston arrows, make sure to mark their facing direction. After that, take out the bolts and caps securing the connecting rods, remove the pistons and take out the connecting rods from the engine's upper end, being careful to work on a clean, soft surface. Mixing the piston pins with the wrong pistons isn't allowed; remove the snap rings from all the pistons. Unscrew the piston pins and remove the piston from the connecting rod. After cleaning, review the parts you intend to use again and change them if they are damaged.
