How to Service and Repair Trunk Lid Lift Support on 2007 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

Start the repair or service of the trunk or liftgate shock support by first opening the liftgate and raising it to its highest point using a lifting device. After that, take out pivot bolt 2, securing each support rod 3 to the liftgate opening panel and then remove pivot bolt 3 which attaches each support rod 2 to the liftgate 1.
