  A: Before servicing or repairing the windshield washer reservoir, open the hood and take out the negative cable from the battery. Gently lift the cap over the wiper arm nut with a trim stick, special tool #C-4755 or a comparable tool, then remove the wiper arm retaining nut. Swing the arm upward towards the over/centered position before taking it off the pivot. After that, remove the left side cowl cover, as it is held by the right side, by removing the rear engine compartment seal and releasing the four push retainers that hold the right side cover in place. Then, clear out the three screws holding the reservoir in place, unplug the power wire of the pump and remove the washer hose from its ports. Remove the washer fluid reservoir from the cowl area and put the liquid into a bucket below. If you're replacing the washer reservoir, move the pump to the new reservoir and use the new washer pump grommet with it. Next, separate the plastic strap from the pump and slowly pull and pry the pump free from the reservoir and its grommet.
