For servicing and repairing the rear door striker, first trace the outline of the latch striker on the C-pillar to make installation easier. Then, remove the C-pillar using the door latch striker screws and take the door latch striker out of the vehicle. Shims sometimes get put inside the door latch striker area; if found, they should be put back in with the new latch striker to ensure the door closes properly.
