2007 Dodge Caliber Timing Chain Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Replace a Timing Chain on 2007 Dodge Caliber?
A: Pull up on the engine cover to remove it and then carry out the fuel pressure bleed. After removing battery 3's negative cable, remove coolant recovery bottle 3, windshield washer bottle 1 and keep power steering reservoir 2 for now. After that, pull out the make up air hose 2, PCV hose 5 and detach the two ignition coil connectors 1. After that, remove the cover from the cylinder head and lift the vehicle. Take out the lower splash shield on the right and give the engine TDC 1. After removing the accessory drive belt, take out the two retaining bolts from the lower A/C compressor 1 and the bracket 2 down below. Get rid of the accessory drive belt lower idler pulley, crankshaft damper 2, front crankshaft oil seal, water pump pulley 4 and the engine mount bracket 1 lower bolt. Next, get the vehicle low and eliminate power steering line support 1. Following that, lift out the power steering pump and park it somewhere secure. Place a jack and piece of wood beneath the oil pan, then take out the right engine mount to bracket bolts 3. Unscrew the upper idler pulley, take out the right engine mount bracket #1 and detach the accessory drive belt tensioner. Having done that, take away the timing chain cover bolts and remove the timing chain cover 1 by prying it with points 1, 2, 3 and taking it out from underneath the vehicle.
