How to Safely Service a Wiper Switch on 2007 Dodge Caliber?

Before working on the wiper switch, shut down the supplemental restraint system in cars with air bags to guarantee your own safety. Loosen or break the battery negative cable first, then wait two minutes so that the system capacitor can discharge. Take off both shrouds that are at the top and bottom of the steering column. Then, take out the screw holding the right multi-function switch to the Clock Spring bracket. Gently lift the switch away from the Clock Spring and it will remove the slide tab at the bottom from its groove on the mounting bracket. Disconnect the jumper wire harness from its location on the right multi-function switch at the inboard end, then remove the switch from the Clock Spring.
