How Are Coil Springs Serviced and Repaired on 2007 Dodge Dakota?

You'll need to uninstall the shock to work on and fix the coil spring. After that, snap the shock assembly onto the 7200 spring installation/removal tool or its equivalent. First, compress the spring, then put the shock nut wrench 9362 on the retaining nut at the end of the shock shaft. Put the 8 mm socket onto the hex you see at the end of the shock shaft. As you hold the shock shaft so it doesn't turn, use the wrench to remove the nut from the shock shaft. After that, take out the upper shock nut and then remove the shock. Then, remove the upper mounting plate and check the upper and lower spring isolators.
