2007 Dodge Dakota Drive Belt Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Replace the Drive Belt on 3.7L/4.7L/5.7L Engines on 2007 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before removing and changing the drive belt on 3.7L/4.7L/5.7L engines, unhook the negative battery cable from the battery. After that, use a screwdriver to turn the belt tensioner counterclockwise 6 times until it contacts the point marked and then remove the belt 2. Then, rotate the tensioner slowly back to the freearm position to prevent the tensioner arm from snapping and hurting the tensioner. Make sure, the belt tension is controlled by an automatic spring-loaded belt tensioner, so it cannot be adjusted.
