How to Properly Install and Service an A/C Expansion Valve on 2007 Dodge Durango?

Before you install the expansion valve, be sure to keep the refrigerant oil level at the correct point; otherwise, the A/C system could malfunction and harm the compressor. When changing several A/C components, use the Refrigerant Oil Capacities chart to make sure you use the needed amount of oil. Whenever a refrigerant line is opened, make sure to replac Remove all tape and plugs from the opened evaporator tube and extension tube fittings, together with each rear expansion valve port. Before you install, clean suction tube O-rings with refrigerant oil made for R-134a and use the recommended oil for the compressor's O-rings. After that, place the rear A/C expansion valve (4) between the rear A/C evaporator tubes (2) and the rear extension tube tapping block (5), using the two bolts (3) and secure them with torque at 11 Nm (97 in. lbs.). Next, install a fresh insulator (1) on the rear A/C evaporator pipes then attach the quarter panel trim on the right behind the rear door. Following that, remove the refrigerant, add the required amount of oil and put the correct amount of refrigerant in the system.
